The Affiliate Advisory Group brings together professionals from industries that support real estate, such as mortgage lenders, title agents, appraisers, and home inspectors. This group provides valuable education and networking opportunities for MetroTex affiliates, fostering professional growth and collaboration. The Budget & Finance Advisory Group oversees MetroTex’s finances, including monitoring income and expenses, identifying effective financing methods for programs and projects, and preparing the annual budget for Board approval. The group meets from late June or early July through September to finalize the budget, which is then presented to the Board of Directors for approval ahead of the budget year. The Commercial Advisory Group advises MetroTex on issues and services impacting commercial real estate practitioners. This group recommends improvements in education, networking, communications, and services to support the success of commercial professionals. The Community Outreach Advisory Group fosters positive relationships through community involvement and interaction. Dedicated to public, charitable, and educational purposes, this group annually adopts organizational plans and implements projects to enhance MetroTex’s community presence. The Diversity Advisory Group examines how businesses and governments address diversity issues and explores various housing programs to enhance home ownership opportunities. Its goal is to continually educate MetroTex members on serving clients and conducting business in an increasingly diverse environment. The Forms & Contracts Advisory Group creates forms, contracts, and business aids to help MetroTex members save time and protect their interests in transactions. The group periodically reviews all MetroTex, Texas REALTORS®, and TREC forms and contracts for legal or operational deficiencies and ensures compliance with legislative changes. The Global Advisory Group drives the activities of the Global Forum, providing direction, prioritization, and guidance. Members must have been active in the forum for at least one year prior to applying. Preference is given to applicants with CIPS, AHWD, and experience in the global market segment. Members are expected to participate in activities such as inbound trade missions, networking events, and global and diversity workshops. The Government Affairs Advisory Group monitors local legislation and recommends positions in alignment with Texas REALTORS® and NAR. It responds to Texas REALTORS® and NAR “Calls to Action” and is responsible for interviewing, recommending, and promoting candidates, with a focus on the local level. The Investment Advisory Group is responsible for protecting and growing MetroTex’s investments in line with its strategy, policy, and risk tolerance. This includes overseeing portfolio performance and monitoring risk levels. The group meets quarterly with the investment manager to review the portfolio and fund performance. The Leasing & Property Management Advisory Group ensures that forms and contracts specific to the leasing market are available to real estate practitioners. The group also provides tailored educational workshops and dedicated support for leasing and property management professionals. The MLS Advisory Group addresses a diverse array of MLS issues, including system functions, industry updates, concerns, and the enforcement of MLS and Key Service rules and regulations. The Professional Development Advisory Group plans and promotes MetroTex’s educational offerings. It assists in promoting special seminars and educational events from other advisory groups and NAR-sanctioned Institutes, Societies, and Councils. The Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program (TRLP) Alumni Advisory Group guides the TRLP class and maintains an ongoing leadership development program, preparing members for leadership roles in their community, profession, and at all levels of the Association. The Volunteer Leadership Advisory Group focuses on developing volunteer leaders through recruitment, mentorship programs, and enhanced educational offerings.
